Will push ups help lose fat?

Pushups are not specifically meant for burning calories, but depending on the speed and reps it could do that during the workout, yes. If you make it a cardio workout it could burn some calories, but the main effect of body building workouts is building muscle, and one thing about muscle is it burns calories a lot more than fat, so the more muscle you have, the higher your resting calorie burning rate is.
